Doosan Vina’s Chemical Processing Equipment (CPE) Division has completed and sent 44 distillation towers and pressure vessels weighing nearly 2,000 tons to three nations worldwide, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore on Feb. 8th 2013.
The shipment included distillation towers and high-tech pressure tanks of the five combined projects for Wasit 80, Jurong 90, 91 and Algiers 47, 48. CPE’s skilled engineers and technicians have been working since early 2012 to fill these orders for SK E&C of Korea and the Technip Corporation of France.
The high-tech tanks will be used to distill the gas and gas product at the Wasit Gas Plant in Saudi Arabia; to capture aromatherapy oils and various gas product at the Jurong Aromatics plant in Singapore and to distill chemicals and oil in the Algerian Refinery.
This first combined shipment project between the 1st and 11th of February 2013 was so large, it took the facilities of our purpose built and designated port at Doosan Vina, plus those at the port at PTSC to handle all the cargo. The shipment included a large tank with a diameter of nearly 5 meters, a heavy one that weighed 350 tons and very long one that was 62m, which because of the extreme length had to be split for shipment.
Due to the massive weight of nearly 3,700 tons and large volume of the 83 pieces of equipment the shipping task for these projects had to be divided into three shipments with the second and third scheduled to be carried out by June.
